I actually kinda like the idea that we should teach our kids that santa claus is real so they can learn to have a healthy distrust of authority figures from finding out they were lied to. However, there seems to be a sizable portion of the population that didn't get the message.

Thats pretty much the point. I can still celebrate Easter with family and friends, whole having a good lesson in "what is more likely"

Holy shit my parents were a lot better than I realized. I had no idea they were only doing that to teach me a lesson about how the world really works!
