I will say there was one woman that was doing really well. The rest were either propped up by professors or in way over their heads.

The problem is when you assume women have as much ability as men in the field
I dont know what they are doing with math and science departments now. But ten or fifteen years ago 80% of your grade was math tests. 20% attendence and homework. The prof didn’t even know who was a female most of the time because the class was full of foreigners and who even knows whether Darvishamoninan is a guy or girl when you’re grading papers. So how is one propped up? Lots of people hit a wall and wash out at a certain level of difficulty. A lot of those were women. I never saw anyone complain of sexism, but then again a decade ago might as well have been 100 years ago.

The rot was already there, it was just subtle. Even in the 80s they were passively discriminating against whites and men. As you mentioned classes were full of foreigners who had no business being there. The change of the last 10 years is that the discrimination is thrown in your face.
I will say there were some fucking morons in the first classes that never made it to thesis. There were a few idiots left at the end though.
My major and minor were both very math heavy. More competitive school with STEM reputation. All the cupcakes were gone by the 300s level courses. When the chinks start falling you know its bad. I have seen grown men cry.
There are always these faggier options that are light on the math. I always thought they were beneath me. But I just have this quixotic tic which hasn’t always served me well. Probably could have saved myself a lot of trouble and taken the fag route.
I suppose alot of these bitches and other sub-par workers are just taking the fag option. The corporations don’t care if you are female/lgbt/non-white, just that you have some rag that looks science-y.
