the "polyglot" crowd
Lol, oh dear lord fuck those people. They are such a cancer on DuoLingo that I don't bother with the forums there. They're like redditards with the badges and whatnot only somehow more smug and sanctimonious.
Are you still learning Japanese after your studies? How far along have you come since finishing the course?
Not terribly far, I've been picking it back up again recently though so it's been on my mind lately. As to how far I've come, I'm recognizing words and partial sentences "in the wild" as it were and am thinking on getting some "my first reading book" sort of material once I catch back up (again). I figure once I can start regularly reading material, however simple, I'll make good progress due to my voracious reading habits. I hope to one day keep up with Japanese news (a goal for fluency in Japanese).
I have a website for language learning resources
Sure, I would like that link. Any/all resources are at least worth a look at.
Duolingo is a waste of time - it gets you to a beginner level at absolute best, and the Duolingo fanboys obviously haven't learned a language to a decent level otherwise they'd realise how crap it is.
I sent you a PM with the resources. I hope they're useful to you in at least some way.
