I'm sure that's true, the point wasn't the degrees so much as that homeschoolers aren't inept. My kids have a lot of rethinking and relearning to do like everybody.

I'm in Texas, one of the least rigid states. My kids (over five kids) worked and read books and traveled with us while they were young, didn't start any real 'official' studying till they were teens (we were 'unschoolers').
It's easier when they begin to enjoy it and it's not forced. They then attended community college and that's when they really began to learn (actually it's just memorizing and not critical thinking).
Three got scholarships, one became a minister, one took over the family business and one is still finding his way but he's productive and intelligent, doesn't know what he wants. One is now a vice president of communications company (marketing) and one is lead sales of a large metal company.
They grew up absolutely free, homeschooled and home business, we traveled to many places, Washington to see Congress, Civil War battlefields, state and national parks, even London and even Trump's mum's hometown in Scotland.
Etc, etc, we were blessed and are thankful.
They were well adjusted having grown up mostly around adults. We were pioneers, in the eighties, and had to be somewhat quiet about it. The San Antonio DA (Bexar County) homeschooled so he stood up for us, we also got a lot of help from Jay Sekulow's organization.

I see what is going on first hand, I can tell you the greatest gift you could give your kids is homeschooling, christian school. Even charter schools would be better. As a single parent, if I could do it, you can too!!!!!!! This next generation will be soooo screwed if parents don't PROTECT their kids from this. No, i did not homeschool. But, I put my son in a christian school in the 5th grade after seeing how bad public schools (i volunteered a lot to see what was going on). It made all the difference in the world. I'm not catholic, but they have an excellent education and the teachers are the best because they are not run by the teacher union mafia. Sorry for this late reply. Also, even as a single parent these days, there are networks of other parents in your neighborhood looking for the same thing. I believe it is homeschool.com. where you can connect with those like minded parents. It truly is well worth your time (and i know how limited it is) to explore those options. Since we have started homeschooling our kids, we have noticed a massive improvement in their behavior and temperament from when they were in school. You may not realize this if you don't have kids, but the last 18 months was terrible for them and turned many of them into anti-social monsters. Mask-wearing/distancing for 8-10 hours a day and policies against talking to friends, playing, hugging, sharing, etc turned kids into little paranoid jail inmates. Add to this the unceasing woke and white guilt bullshit, and kids are in bad shape.
I have noticed many Boomers don't get how bad it is in the schools now. They think it is still 1974 and the average HS kid is still hanging with his bud in the parking lot, sitting on the hood of his Nova and laughing about getting hassled by the principal. Or they think the average middle school girl is still bringing an apple for the teacher, wearing a poodle dress, and giggling with her friends over a cute boy with freckles. The teachers in this fantasy are all white, married, conservative men who pray before class.
School isn't like that at all anymore. Not even close. Boomers can't seem to grasp that teachers are mostly lesbian communists who hate children and hugging a friend can get you suspended and called a "health hazard."
