Killing that bird is probably illegal. IDK about Cardinals, but I've had woodpeckers pissing me off before, so I looked it up, and they're protected by migratory bird treaties -- international law backed up by US law

That's what the last guy I told told me. I suppose it depends on how you kill it whether anyone notices. I'm sure there are people that would turn you in for it. Not my job.

This bird doesn't migrate, he's been living on the property for 4 years. He recently got a girlfriend that follows him around and it chilled him out. He no longer pecks his reflection. His bird lady came along just in time, I had already bought a Gamo Swarm pellet gun to do the job.

Fire a shotgun round now and then and they stay away. You don’t have to kill anything.
