We've already lost the "Gender" arguement because all discussion and debate uses that word "Gender."
It's newspeak for "Sex". Gender used to describe mascilin and feminine words in Latin derived languages Spanish and Italian. The word Gender was rehypothicated by pedophile child abuser Dr. Money in New Zealand in his sick and twisted rebranding of mental illness sexual dysphoria. Sex is male or female. Gender is a word used by a deviant to abuse twin male todlers.

As long as we use Gender in place of Sex it is a lost battle. Control the language, control the people.
