I always thank testers when they find bugs. This confuses both testers and project managers because they think it means "i'm dumb" "there shouldn't have been bugs". No. It means the process worked, there was always statistically going to be a bug to be found, and we found it before it went out. Now it's fixed, and the end product, which I care about but you don't seem to, will be better.
