Yes. They're just different cultural interpretations of the same concept. The thing is, nobody can tell you what is what, it's a personal understanding you must discover for yourself. That's my opinion anyway.
I personally went from being a nihilistic atheist with no sense of self or culture to discovering a sense of self, began discovering my cultural heritage, and then one day it hit me, I am Christian whether I like it or not. I am not born again and I don't think I've ever been baptized and I personally am still getting a handle on my own understanding and faith, but it's there now and it's not going away, but I don't fully understand it yet.
