The likelihood of you falling and breaking your head while walking is extremely unlikely if you’re not a fat fuck, whereas riding a bike and flying off for reasons at your fault or not of your fault isn’t. You’re also not going walking speed on a bike, so your impact would be much greater and deadlier. I’ve met many professional cyclists and mountain bikers and they all agree that not wearing a helmet is a really fucking stupid idea.
However, if you want to risk serious injury to spite the government, you do you.
Oh, I don't ride bikes. I don't want to die.
I mean at least not as a mode of transportation around where I live. Idiots would kill you with their car. I have no problem riding them on the beach or whatever. Mountain biking is not my thing.
Yea that is a pretty serious threat, some places are implementing bike lanes, and even entire roads dedicated just for bikes. It’s actually really cool, not having to worry about some careless driver painting the sidewalk with your innards.
You ride bikes on the beach? Must have some impressive legs my man, riding on sand is hell.
Well, I don't live at the beach, but yeah when I go on vacation I rent a bike. You can ride near the water line where the sand is a bit harder without too much trouble, or you can ride on the sidewalk. Unlike here, the traffic is very chill in these beach towns I visit, so I'm not that worried about getting hit by a car. Where I live is like a combat zone with terrible roads. Everyone drives a SUV as they handle better on the terrible roads, but half the people are women and half aren't from this country. It's bad enough dodging these bitches in my sports car. Almost no one rides a bike, and almost no one rides a motorcycle.
