Do you know anyone who ever has? I only ask because after decades of no vaccinations, vets are now insisting on vaccinating birds. And they want to vaccinate goats for rabies. I'm now suspicious of everything. It's not healthy. (Both my suspicion and the vaccinations)
I don’t suppose I do, no. Just what I’ve been told from other people over the years. Could just be Redneck gossip, or a way to get people to leave those poor ‘Dillo’s alone. Wait what? My family has been raising goats for 20 something years and we’ve never once vaccinated them from anything. We’ve only ever lost a handful from sickness anyway, and vaccinating birds just sounds retarded. Never once has any of our goats contracted rabies.

Yes, really, they want you to vaccinate everything. I do not vaccinate my goats. So far, I haven't lost sales, when asked if I have vaccinated them I usually follow up with: " I raise these to drink their milk; I don't want any chemicals in them at all at any point."
I keep CD&T anti toxin on hand just in case. But hopefully I'll never need it.
The goats that win shows are so full of chemicals, both wormers and vaccinations, plus their diets are so heavy grain to get the really thick appearance that wins shows. Entirely unhealthy animals that are unlikely to survive without pharmaceutical interventions. People pay thousands of dollars for those kind.
I'll stick to my simple dairy milk star tested goats and leave the shows to the fakers.
Probably pharmaceutical companies just wanting to make more $$. I’d just call them “organically raised” goats, but I’ve never been the one to make the sale so I don’t know what we say, though I don’t think anyone’s ever asked.
We’ve only ever brought our goats to the local shows at most, but we’ve had pigs go to the big ones. Unless I’m just out of the loop I’ve never heard of us getting them vaxxed either.

supposedly it was common to eat them during president hoovers turn at our asshole, so youd think if it was bad wed have developed a disgust towards them.
We have a couple here and I think they're really cute. Rollypolly rats! My dogs lose their minds over them, though.

although a video i saw the other day about 'how to flip a goat' i found strangely entertaining and informative. now i know how to out alpha a goat if it wants to dick around with me and turn it into a live stuffed toy instead.
