Have you considered a barndominium?
Wouldn't work for this environment, but I do like the concept
I thought about building either a condominium or a shipping container house. I hate to sound like a yuppie by mentioning a shipping container house but I can't deny they would be somewhat easy and economical to build.
I remember seeing these in Melbourne as they are trendy assholes there. And made a comment on Melbourne trying to look like a 3rd world shit hole and nailing it to the look of that crying guy meme you always see on here. It made me laugh.
I looked into the container house, and from a practical standpoint for my situation it's more expensive.
I can do most of the work and would prefer to do most of the work. Worked in the trades so I know the quality of work you can expect for .
If I were to improve the lot to rent it out, that might be a good option.

And they are fairly cheap but one is not enough space for me. Four of them stacked 2x2 buried in the ground, would be perfect.
