You are missing OP's point. They don't value things that can be used to build, because they don't build. They only consume and destroy. That is why they loot hair weave, liquor and Nike stores. The auto parts store is burned down pretty much intact. Have you ever seen them loot a Home Depot or a Lowe's or a Bill's Work clothes? They would have no interest in the plywood as it's only purpose it to be used to build.
