How can you be that stupid?

I recall being a bit confused at a roundabout when I approached one for the first time. To be fair, it had multiple circles connected in pretty close succession. But the rules for one circle are the same for every circle. I don't know how you approach one of these and suddenly the regular rules of the road are out-the-window, and you just go to the left side of the median? I'd think intuitively you'd grasp that the movement is counter-clockwise, but even if you didn't, every roundabout I have ever been to has a sign with arrows that show the direction of traffic flow. I think the counter-intuitive part for people is the concept of using your own judgment on yielding versus going - people are used to rules that tell you every move to make.

They installed one last year at an intersection very close to my home, and I love it. Once people get the gist of things, it's very smooth. Of course, you always have to be attentive when using them because there is always some jackass capable of pulling out right in front of you. Besides that person, the other person who fucks these up are the people who come to a dead stop at the yield sign and basically wait for the circle to clear before they'll go. They create a line behind them, and then that line can fuck up the whole circle. These depend on good 'flow'.

We had one of these at my apartment complex parking lot and people were so fucking self-entitled they would go the wrong direction at the roundabouts as a "shortcut" to turn left. I had to slam my brakes more than once for people cutting me off going the wrong way. Of course, this was in a city where the average IQ was retarded.

One thing I've learned from motorcycle riding is that most people on the road don't belong there.

I came to that determination long before I started riding. Split my initial bike budget in half and spent it on safety equipment to increase my odds, lol.

Edit: Funny story for the upvote. You weren't asking but yes, I own an airbag vest, lol. Amazingly, in the only fast moving accident I've had (thus far) I forgot to fucking clip it to my bike! Thankfully, it was cold so I had full gear and both the airbag vest and jacket have decent spine protectors built in. Also, somehow, not a scratch on the helmet but completely fucked my boots. Life is weird.

Honestly! Roundabouts are great. Got one near my home in the boonies and it really helps out the semi traffic. But, 15 minutes east they put one near a community, and the fuckery that happens in that intersection.

WHO STOPS WHILE IN THE CIRCLE?!?!

There is one in Wisconsin near the southern border that has a back to back roundabout just off an interstate. That one really fucked with me cause I was using GPS due to a traffic jam on the interstate, and I was trying to read the signs for which direction to head.

Talk about a confusing sign with two roundabouts in the same image on the side of the road.

I know that one, it's not even bad. It has signs and the lanes are clearly marked. Nothing about them is confusing, they just aren't common.

The reason it's unintuitive to people is obvious in the video. The shortest route to turn left is to just turn left, not go all the way around the circle, even though the latter is correct for these things.

I guess it depends on how efficiency minded you are vs first thinking of observation of road laws/rules.
