That’s a good point, and I did miss out on a lot of family life as a result. But the answer to that isn’t to force women back out of the workforce, it’s to accommodate women’s familial responsibilities while they can pursue professional or academic goals. That’s what I meant by the problems being the expectation that women’s careers mirror those of men. Kids are at school most of the day - there’s no reason women who wish can’t pursue their professional or academic goals during that time and still be around for their families all the time. It’s not like we haven’t benefited from women pursuing such goals in the last few decades. Radiation and DNA are two fairly important advances that spring immediately to mind - reckon you’d have discovered them if you could put that cute blonde who rejected you back in her place?
