There was a phase in my life when I studied Buddhism for a while (never became one, just learned about the teachings), they say the same thing as well. I mean sure, there is validity in people knowing about your good deeds, and you don't have to go out of your way to hide your actions. But there is a magic attached to the deed for both the doer and the receiver when its kept anonymous. Its nice to see someone else who understands.

A lot of the eastern religions and philosophies offer wisdom. Not salvation, but certainly wisdom. And some of them are complete horseshit.

I think of nature as a kind of manifestation of godly law and spirit; with satanism being anti-nature and all that it made it easy to talk with people who claim they don't believe in a "magical sky father", as I'd delegate that to nature in conversation. From worshipping the sun to Shintoism that worships nature, I think that humanity in eastern societies got the elementary values covered.
