I never trust people who film themselves doing nice things for views (giving homeless people money, etc). Part of giving is doing something without anyone else knowing (or you telling them) about it. Its a special feeling keeping secrets like these to yourself, knowing you're giving back.

There was a phase in my life when I studied Buddhism for a while (never became one, just learned about the teachings), they say the same thing as well. I mean sure, there is validity in people knowing about your good deeds, and you don't have to go out of your way to hide your actions. But there is a magic attached to the deed for both the doer and the receiver when its kept anonymous. Its nice to see someone else who understands.
A lot of the eastern religions and philosophies offer wisdom. Not salvation, but certainly wisdom. And some of them are complete horseshit.
