Their reactions were your normal response you would get from most males. Him being scrawny is what makes it funny. After seeing that he is rather thin most of them seem to "defuse" somewhat.

Try that with a guy that is short but of average build and you would have a very different response! I never really pay attention to a guys size until some short guy let's his "little big man" syndrome problem get the better of him. Everything has a reason, but social convention dictates we can define minimal or irrelevant reason to one party as "no reason".

If you are speeding, you are trying to save time or get some adrenaline. But as long as you are not in a hurry to get to some appointment or some meeting, it falls under the umbrella of "no reason".
