I was thinking of how infrequently I ever hear actual catcalling. Sure, if you are out at night walking past bars and restaurants in a college town, it should just be expected. But I'd be willing to bet there are more catcalls issued sarcastically nowadays. I could picture this dimepiece from the OP getting catcalled just because some asshole teens thought it was funny to have a go at her.
