It adds up, you will be picking lots of cotton, and it is better to squat down to collect all cotton from the plants around you before moving on. Look at weightlifters, they all lift with knees, even the clean jerk is just a snap up to leg support.

But okay, if you want to throw out your back, and fuck up your skeleton. it's up to you. Just don't expect me to be happy when I'm paying taxes to support you because you were ruining your body by not doing fieldwork like it's supposed to be done.

Have you ever done manual labor in your life? I've never been employed, but I have done a lot of it regardless.

That's something modern history censors completely: actual stories from the slaves themselves.

Some were treated well and loved their lives. Others were just treated as breeding stock. A lot of it was down to the particular states and territories.

The books of folk songs put together by Alan Lomax has a lot of interviews with former slaves, and some of them speak very highly of that period of their lives.

It's certainly no worse than debt slavery in a culture whose family life has been obliterated and where gangs fulfill the role of father.

Well before all of their liberation and gains in freedom with the civil rights movement, the rate of violence in their community was much lower, murders were lower, rapes were lower, unemployment was lower, there was actually less of a wage gap, they were more educated, healthier by most metrics... Owned homes!

Some of their communities were pretty damn respectable, actually. Black people from 100 years ago would probably hate modern blacks as much as you people do.
