The sweeteners? What do they do?

[–] 0 pt

They don’t delete the insulin response like the industry claims. Anything sweet tasting will trick your body into thinking it’s getting sugar, so it will produce insulin. However, there’s no glucose to actually remove the insulin so it stays in your blood. You can understand how that leads to issues.

Now, that’s not even the worst part of sweeteners. Some of them are carcinogenic and/or can cause bleeding in brain. Do your research but not mainstream. Don’t drink artificial sweeteners. You can have maple syrup and honey if you are set against sugar

Hmmm, fair enough, thanks.

My focus right now is weight loss so maple syrup wouldn't make a lot of sense. I'll just drink water.

Yes, for weight loss, sugar and even fat needs to be limited. I’m also focusing on weight loss rn and started outdoor activities too. But make sure you don’t go very low carb or fat because that actually does affect your metabolism and thyroid etc
