I direct your attention to question #1 which states:
Can you be claimed as a dependent on another person's 2020 return?
YES You can't take the credit.
That eliminates anyone who is a dependent from taking the credit themselves. Now, on to lines 6 and 9, which say:
Multiply $500 by the number of qualifying children under age 17 at the end of 2020
Multiply $600 by the number of qualifying children under age 17 at the end of 2020
That's the only chances you get to get a stimulus for a dependent. Notice that child 17 or older who is a dependent does not get a stimulus payment, nor do their parents.
