That show, Dinosaurs, recently got added to Disney+ and I gave it a watch. Far from a trip down memory lane, this must be one of the most subversive shows from it's era. The joke all along was that we (normal working class whites) are the dinosaurs. Each episode main character and working, family man Earl lives through humiliation after humiliation at the hands of an increasingly more hostile, feminist and progressive society of fellow dinosaurs, blissfully unaware that his extinction is imminent.
Damn that's dark.
Yes but my only issue with it was that most of the writers were themselves leftists and many of them talked openly about their atheism as well, and contemporary interviews with some of the writers and the people involved in the show made very clear their contempt for that average white male.
It's clear enough just from watching the show. They are nihilists mocking the common man.
I loved that show. Such a bizarre concept, a Simpsons with people walking around in freaking animatronic Dinosaur suits. But it worked
