What's worse is that Norwegian in some ways has similarities to English, which makes it even more disgusting because it's not stupidly hard to learn the basics. My husband is also from that area of the world and I've gone to the trouble to learn the language because whenever we visit his family back home it's important that I communicate with them in their language (even if their English is great). I could have done the usual "They speak English so fuck learning the language" bullshit that others do, but that would be denying my husbands' roots and heritage which is a disgusting thing to do.
