It wasn't drugs if that's what you're thinking. First off, I helped rebuild the truck as a friend. I was aware of the fucked up way he never filled out his documents on the vehicle.

We did swap meet stuff selling clothes and he refused to give me my share of profits and pocketed my original investment. I played tag with him for a day while he was trying to avoid me and when I finally caught up with him he was drunk and talking shit. Then he tried to pretend he couldn't pull the money from his account which was total bullshit. I called him on his bullshit and he started swinging his fist to threaten me and cut a massive gash in his hand so I dropped him off at the hospital, waited an hour while they stitched him up to stop the bleeding. Then, confronted him once more and since I had to drive him I held the keys and told him to either make it right or take a walk. I totally intended on picking him up the next day to get my cash and he stormed off cursing and telling me to sell his truck and fuck off. Bad move on his part because I ALWAYS take a man on his word. So, I sold his truck for exactly what he owed me which was about ten percent of what the truck was worth. I penciled in my name and sold it off. In my opinion, the fucker wanted to be an ass and talk shit while hanging on to my cash so he got what was coming to him.

Swap meet stuff huh?

Ya, it was just a venture but since he couldn't play it straight we didn't do a repeat. I did have fun selling clothes though. We one bin of store returns and then sorted and folded them for resale. The one losing item was blue jeans. Since we bought by weight, blue jeans turned out to have little profit at the rate we were selling. Lighter stuff made a good profit. Mixed in were some very defective pull on dresses because the necks had been made from non stretchy stuff there was no way a woman could pull it over her head. Very attractive dresses otherwise but unusable so what I did was walk around and found another seller who took them all on at a break even price.

I think I was more interested in sorting and pricing than the other guy was. His idea was to just sell them as is with no thought to price structure to maximize our profit which I thought was dumb. It's super easy to sort out the items, stack by size and then determine cost by weight and compare with retail price to arrive at an attractive swap meet price that will get people excited to buy. Couldn't make a profit on the jeans because they are heavy so I just priced them at cost to get rid of them.

The guy I was working with was whining that it was too much work and too hard to figure it out. Bullshit, it was fun work, easy work. What, he thought we could just toss out a bin of mixed up clothes and people would like to rummage through it like a dumpster sale? No! Presentation is important.

How'd you get into that line of business?
