Pretty much got red pilled because I was curious about all the shit getting banned. I know lots of others who are the same.
For me it was the principle. If reddit wouldn't allow free speech I would find alternatives. I ended up on Voat and Poal and was exposed to an insane amount of information and arguments and views that I literally never would have seen if reddit simply hadn't started banning a bunch of shit. Reddit directly caused my swing from considerably left-leaning to far right lmao.
Reddit red pilled me by banning me.
About 6-7 years ago, I found out that the plaque outside of Auschwitz that used to say 5 million people were killed there, with 3 million being jews. The plaque today says 1.5 million people killed there, with 1 million being jews, but that's not even correct, upon further review, the death count had been changed to 1.1 million people with "nearly a million" being jews.
6-7 years ago, Google hadn't really started agendizing their search results, so I could search "how many jews actually died during the holocaust" and get affairly ddiverse set of results. Anywhere from 150,000 to the fabled 6 million.
So, I asked on r/askhistorians, "If the number of jews killed at Auschwitz was reduced from 3 million to 'nearly a million' why hasn't the number of jews killed during the holocaust been reduced from 6 million to 4 million?"
I was immediately banned for being a Nazi. I wasn't even "red pilled" on the holohoax yet, but this only drove me to dig deeper.
