That was way funnier than it should have been, albeit true

Fireball solves everything.

Needs a stack of cheese from floor to ceiling.

Ezekiel... have you recently had a with someone named Tony?

[–] 1 pt

For legal reasons, I'm going to say I have no idea what you're talking about.

Don't play online video games and have no idea what this is about.

Dungeons and Dragons, in-person game where a person (the DM) crafts a world, lore, and general quest for the players. The DM is the game arbitrator.

The players play through the world, completing the quest.

Think of it as a role playing video game, without the video part.

I see RPGs as more improv theater with an extra layer of nerd.

And a tremendous waste of time.

Ah, Ok. DM would be Dungeon Master? So, do they communicate the rules and plays via internet or just meet in person?

[–] 2 pts

Yeah exactly, you can play over the internet using some online services but nothing beats the old pen and paper with real dice.

Don't play online video games

D&D

dude, are you amish? d&d is tabletop rpg no computers involved

Would that be Dungeons and Dragons? Don't know what RPG is and never played either game. So, what, you all sit in a room a play a bored game? hahaha. Pun intended.

Aye lad d&d is dungeons and dragons , RPG is role playing game , d&d been about like 35-40 years or so now i think

A DM, the game rule master and story teller, made a puzzle with an obvious solution. Those playing the game could not come up with the obvious.

[–] 2 pts

I don't know about you, but I'd probably brag if I came up with the flux capacitor in the bottom left.

We used to work our asses off to come up with painfully convoluted solutions if the DM insulted us with "too obvious." It could take us an hour to get out of a room with an unlocked door.

Kind of like some of my work experience on a construction crew. Guys have problem with obvious solution but I stand back and watch them do everything else but the obvious until I get tired of the the pain of watching them fail over and over and just walk over and show them the solution. Guys too proud to ask, too stupid to figure it out and so they do the same stupid stuff over and over. Or, make a horrible mistake and instead of going back and fixing it make up solutions to cover the errors and or find someone to blame it on who had nothing to do with it.

Persuasion check to see if I'm impressed.

Roll a d20

Is 15 enough?

[–] 1 pt

You are almost, but not quite totally impressed, but down there somewhere, there's an impression. Of sorts. Maybe of the ... slow clap variety.

An RPG safe space? In my Poal?

Pshaw! You filthy casuals have probably never even played the Tomb of Horrors, much less painted a WH ork as a nigger.

[–] 1 pt

I played through ToH in 1e.

Shit was nasty.

I'm still of the opinion that if you survived the Tomb of Horrors, you weren't really there.
