I remember, around 1970, this became appropriate wear even for staid bankers, my dad looked sharp in his, and I'm sure it was a nice change from years of suits/ties/freshly-ironed shirts. (He was much younger and slimmer than these guys lol.)

These guys are like the old white gay version of the fat boys. To be fair, the fat boys would probably be this old if they were still alive.
