You'd have to know what you were doing, you can't load a rifle round with pistol powder or you'll grenade your gun; primers come in many sizes, each round usually has a different case style, length and width and the bullets are usually different between calibers with a few crossovers. I've also never reloaded before, this is all from a standard gun owner.
That was what the "time on your hand" was implying, of course you don't play with explosives without learning about them beforehand.
That's fair, I'd put casings as the hardest part to make yourself. Bullets can be cast, primers can be a small piece of brass with a bit of wire to act as an anvil and powder can be made a few different ways.
Sounds like a nice hobby to have in america in times like these!
