Why don't you buy those "bizarre" rounds and re-use the supposed ingredients from them?
The only two interchangeable components, for the most part, are the powder and primers. Those two are the ones that can be hard to find and if you do are several times what they used to be. I'm not struggling for ammo so I've no need to disassemble rounds to make different ones.
So you can just buy "bizarre" ammunition and re-use the most scarce ingredients for fitting ammunition?
With enough dedication you probably could, the bullet and casing will be different and you might run into issues with removing the primer. The powder will also be a factor as there are so many of them with different burn rates and you really don't want to over pressure a round.
That sounds like a hold my beer moment in the making.
