This is actually fucking huge.

Coke isn’t just spiced sugar water.

Coke is a beverage monopoly.

Coke has control.

Coke making these political choices is something entirely different from virtue signaling.

It's easy. Drink filtered water, you can buy a good filter for the price of a few large coke bottles and it will last you for hundreds and hundreds of liters of clean, fresh, filtered water.

Drink tea - that you buy in bulk from a farmer's market. Brew it yourself as needed for a hot drink, and brew it yourself in larger quantities that you cool down so you have nice cool ice tea on demand. Sweeten it with a pinch of honey, that you also buy from a farmer's market.

If you can't see yourself living without the drinks on that list, you're most likely addicted to sugar and not know/want to admit. Don't worry, it'll go away after a month or so of drinking filtered water and great tea.

Worst case scenario, just save that list on your phone and do a search every time you want to buy a brand of some drink. In less than a few shops, you'll know what drinks you like that aren't Coke owned.

Yes thank you for telling us how to drink water and tea.

😉 But seriously - you’re right, and fuck sugary shit drinks.

A Berkey can be bought for a few hundred dollars, sits on your counter, and provides THOUSANDS of gallons of drinking water. Filters ANYTHING.

I considered a Berkey but eventually went with a reverse osmosis filter for several reasons:
- Electricity is not a concern.
- Wasn't sure if the Berkey removes the really small things: xeno-estrogen and fluoride. Fluoride is really hard to remove, even reverse osmosis can only remove 60-80% of it.
- A reverse osmosis machine can also work as a kettle, producing either ambient temperature or boiling water on demand.

Most people don't like reverse osmosis because it demineralizes the water, but a good system as an 'insertion filter' (basically a jar filled with calcium and magnesium balls that the water goes through) which remineralizes it after the osmosis as taken place.

I would go with a Berkey in any other situation except for my home kitchen.

That is a lot of crap!

I drink alcohol, water, and coffee. So I don't even need to change what I drink.
