Wealth (beyond the basics to pay off a house or the bills) only changes a person if they're a materialistic fuck

Money is nothing more than a tool to measure value. If you have a lot of money, you’re either really good at helping people, or fucking them over.

Wealth doesn't change people, it reveals them. It insulates them from consequences, and they act how they really wanted to all along. If they put their grocery carriage back in the corral before, they still will. If they didn't, they still won't.

The question is this: will they do the right thing when the consequences don't affect them? That's the dividing line between good and evil.
