There are the orbiting bodies we know as planets and then there are the wandering stars. Whenever i've looked through a telescope, sighting scope, super zoom camera at them its nothing like whats been digitally represented in fact most stars look to me like strange dancing orbs of light under water and a super zoom lense is no different.
The moon is a different story it looks close and its features and ranges easily visible with a telescope. The premise is that the Sun is actually the same size as the moon and both are closer and smaller than we are lead to believe and that they orbit the center axis of the North Pole varying orbits giving the seasons and phases of the Moon.
