Solipsism has been amplified by social media far out of bounds of what it had been. It used to be that the people present in the room got attention simply by their presence, even if just a little, so they didn't need to act like a wounded bird to get noticed. But with social media, you get a short snippet into someone's life based on who cries the loudest and hence gets shared a lot. Over time this trains people to behave like the world revolves around petty personal issues. Women are more prone to it but it affects men too; a lot of the people becoming trannies are just trying to hijack the attention/status normally given to women.
The best remedy is a break from social media and spending some time trying to accomplish something in the real world. Unironically, arbeit macht frei.
