I'm talking about how Norm deliberately speaks in such a way as to make his lines unfunny. The guy takes all the verve out of his voice when he gives these jokes, and he does a bit of the liberal comic thing of putting on a semi-smug "heh, you know this is funny" visage. So we've got semi-deadpan delivery + "so not funny, it's funny...right?"

It's like if David Letterman and Ben Stein had their comedic approaches combined.

Since Norm got into trouble for using comedy to tell illiberal truths, I wonder if he might have deliberately adopted this comedic style to try to appeal to the liberals who all seem to love this sort of ironic comedic style.

When Norm was banned for wrongthink, I went and saw most all of the collections of his material from over the years.

Much of it contained him dropping "truthbombs", such as his confirmation about Hollywood being run by Jews, but I never laughed at any of it.

Maybe Norm should put his hat in the ring to fill in for El Rushbo, as the guy is a better truth-teller than he is a comic, and if folks out there find him to be funny, well, wouldn't that be a bonus?
