Small world - I was an army brat and lived all over. Many years ago, a group of my friends who were also army brats and thus spread out across the country all met up in VA Beach and stayed at a campground the military had there. It was for a 21st birthday party. IIRC the civilian part of VA Beach was touristy and built up but the government owned a big chunk of land that had a campground and cabins
