I think the best analogy would be the cuckoo.
They lay their eggs in other birds nests, living off of the hard work of actual productive, honest birds.

TK, I have also been thinking of brood parasitism or social parasitism and how it applies to our current situation. Its interesting that a lot of brood parasites are from the same or closely related species especially in bees and wasps.
There is an interesting behavior called “mafia hypothesis” which has been observed in cuckoos. They attack the nest of the host bird if it rejects the parasite egg. Destroy the nest!
