Not particularly. Why get a gift that lasts perhaps 1 or 2 weeks after you receive them, and that costs the same amount as roughly half a week's worth of groceries? I'm very much about practical gifts, and those are hardly that.

I'm not from the US, we don't have that crap here.
Secondly, a bunch of flowers would be far better as a spontaneous gift on a random day, than on a day that they dictate you need to buy them (and then jack up the price as a result). It's not something I personally give a crap about, but for those who do.
