Just to nitpick "selective persecution" is redundant. Persecution is inherently selective - they don't hate you because of your actions, they hate you because of who you are. Whatever actions you take are just more evidence of how evil you are, and if they take the same actions it's just "necessary because they're inherently good." Just regular old persecution.
