I'm betting it's a CYA strategy. If you remember, when all this started, they said masks were only going to be for 2 weeks, just to flatten the curve. When the curve didn't flatten in 2 weeks, it's not because masks don't work, it's because mask compliance wasn't 67% or more. If they could only get 67% of people to wear a mask, it would take care of this virus once and for all. When they got nearly everybody to follow and comply like lemmings, and COVID was still on the rise, their CYA policy was to blame Trump and "white supremacists" for refusing to "follow the rules." Now that Trump is gone, and the Democrats are in charge, and the numbers are still on the rise... and not only are they on the rise, but there's a **SECOND** strain that just hopped the ocean without anybody travelling... they need to find a CYA strategy that doubles-down on mask compliance, that doubles-down on the fact that masks work, and that doubles-down on that Democrat strategies work... The answer is doubling-*UP* on masks! That'll work, right? If one mask works, then two will **obviously** work, right Fau¢i? They need to prove to the people we're going to nip this in the bud, even if they have *NO IDEA* what they're doing.
