It was shorted over 250%..and will they get the message ? Well, sure they will. But the message they're getting isn't the one being shouted. I think that point is getting lost. Hedge Funds message received is "Get the politicians to reset the rules to protect us against this".
Bingo. Those screaming "for the little guy" shouldn't have screamed it, emphasized the open secrecy (impossible on a CCP owned website like reddit) and stopped patting themselves on the back openly. They would've been able to take down a number of hedge funds. Instead (and I wonder how much of this happened because it included gamestop...a video game company that fucked over millions of teens and parents) they hit a one and done.
