There was a time that a spent top dollar for most of my tools. The performance level of the lesser brands has reached a point where it doesn't make sense to have the flashy expensive ones - that also seem to attract the most thievery. Dewalt hasn't been all that great since the days they made giant cast iron radial arm saws, either. Mediocre at best.
