You can absolutely do this. I don't recall her name but there was a white lady that permed her hair and was the leaser of NAACP or something like this. You don't have to prove anything , you just assert that you are whatever makes you happy. If being black makes you happy, poof! you're black.

Because race changes over time, you can be multi racial, and there are a few hundred thousand genes that define race, whereas we've had the same two sexes for millions of years, you only don't fit into one of those categories if something went very wrong genetically, and there's an entire chromosome worth of difference between males and females.

if that doesn't make it obvious why you can change your sex but not your race, you don't understand jews and mirrors.
