With current battery technology sure, but they are only getting lighter. It will reach a point where it will be advantageous to run them instead of an IC engine.

Don't get me wrong here, I have a deep passionate love for the internal combustion engine. Building one back after it has exploded itself to bits is one of the most visceral experiences a human being can have in my opinion.

I still don't agree. Even if they are lighter, the demands will cause heat issues. If somehow carbon nanotubes are used, that tech can be applied to ICs.

Everyone says it's a matter of time, but no one can predict the future. What will happen is they will be shoved down our throats.

You're probably right, and I'll be one of the last with an old school IC engine. You can get on that. Especially on my motorcycles. An electric motor just doesn't make any sense in that application.
