There is wood nearly everywhere, maybe coal in some areas, and like you said oil. With EVs you have to make sure your solar panels never get damaged and they take too long to charge a vehicle. Also you are constricted to the radius of range from the charger.

Yes, arguing with children these days. Wood burning is viable. Some guy in australia figured out how to run an engine off of electrified water basically. They don't even understand how it's working. Crazy bastard dreamed it up he says, has put the system in a half dozen of his buddies cars. It seems to be real. Can't remember what they call it.
