I get that, its that fuckin 'just one more' that kills it. But thats why we are functioning. I love when I can actually go to bed on the weekend early.
I try to keep as regular a schedule as my commitments allow. Bed by 10 or 10:30, up & moving no later than 7:30 regardless of the day. Tonight I was out with family on a last minute invitation to a show. I'll justify pushing sleep of until the edge of what I permit by saying that I'm unwinding & letting the memory of a truly professional performance set in my mind. The fact that I'll have 2 or 3 drinks is just a happy side effect.
guess it depends on what you do or what you have to. 3 drinks is my normal but Im on 4 now. course that dont mean shit as to how strong they are. But its sposed to rain tomorrow so wtf.
I'm praying for rain. The radio says 1-3 inches of snow. I have to do a bunch of driving around tomorrow.
When I'm keeping things in check my normal evening is 4 or 6 beers. When I'm not, I don't count. I know I need to reset it I bring home a new bottle.
My personal rule is one bottle at a time; single malt or rye, & it better last at least a month. Sometimes I find it too easy to break that rule which is why I have it & try to stick with it.
