So back In the day (2011-ish) a guy could get a job in ND or TX Making 60k a year starting doing grunt work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off if he could pass a drug test. With a bit of education or experience he could double that or. More. Trump. Comes in and wants low gas prices... Well cheap oil surged and us shale oil died along with the jobs. AAlll the primary producers like witing/kodiak/oasis/etc went under. These were killer outfit to work for. Now they are gone.
Trump killed shale to boost the economy and nothing good came of that. We cannot produce oil to match saudi/Venezuela /etc.
I had construction projects in Minot, Bismarck and Fargo ND from 2015-2018. Government work, I now know why I won the job. Trying to get help, housing or food was Near impossible thanks to Hess Oil. What was available came at an inflated price I'm afraid to say. Now I don't know if that's shale related. But I believe it was Minot that almost had to close because NO ONE was willing to work for $15 an hour at any restaurant or gas station or our project as Everyone was working on the oil project in one way or another for near $50 an hour. As a project manager North Dakota was a nightmare.
Again don't know if that's related but it was during Trump's term.
