These are my suggestions for the 2024 Frosties categories. What do you think? Would you add anything that isn’t here?

Picture categories - Best photo - Best bacon pic - Best bird pic - Best AI generated image - Best selfie

Art categories - Best illustration - Best poem - Best prose - Best music - Best misc art

User Awards - Best user - Most prolific - Best commenter - Biggest troll - Biggest faggot

Best "I never make this lists" category?

The Frosties are cool and all, but it ends up being only 4 or 5 people that do all the voting. I would say finding a way to get more Poalrs involved is more important than coming up with new categories at this point...

Agreed. Hence the early promotion.

Also, believe it or not these are fewer categories than past years.

I figured it was just a starting list. If you start promoting now maybe we can have more voters and more categories.

That’s the idea. Half the reason for low participation has to be that the show is announced at the end of the year and nobody can remember those posts and comments that are deserving of honorable mention.

Besides that, categories need to be defined ahead of time. Letting the nominations determine the categories results in a lot of uncontested entries. And a really long show not even most of the participants will make it through.
