This man is doing gods work in this endevour. I imagine if he wanted to he could make a fortune just selling to small businesses that would sell them to people that would pay more for something they never have had before.

Even seed sales would make him rich getting the seeds to distant areas that would keep the varieties alive after hurricanes in other areas had made them almost nonexistent.

Now stories like this are making my day, seeing people doing priceless deed for just knowing it's the right thing to do.

Most enjoyable one I've read all day, makes me smile just knowing people like this still exist in the world making life better and making sure we don't loose any more variety in nature that god made possible.

Tom is an amazing guy and a wealth of knowledge! Talked/worked with him on a few occasions a few years ago identifying some old heirloom apples that were on our land in SW VA. He helped my wife and i ID them and with the secondary help of a small family owned orchard/nursery we found in NC that specialized in antique and heirloom apples, we now have 10 Virginia Beauty apple trees to start our orchard with. :)

If you hate apples it's probably because you had the red delicious kind. Which are anything but delicious. They were designed for look and color, and the expense of taste.

Cool website. Reminds me of something joogle won't index and you might only find linked by some obscure, banned, corner of the internet
