Sandwiches are basically as American as apple pie...I was surprised that in all my years I’ve only missed 28, 34, 37, and 38.

Damn it, now I'm more hungry!

The pizza will show up one of these hours...

[–] 1 pt

It was the meatball sub that got me

[–] 2 pts

he wants a long cylindrical object that has balls

I mean you are [OP] so it follows.

Haven't had one of those in some years now. That would be super good right about now.

Not sure if I've had that Kentucky brown thing; sounds great, though. They all do right about now!

[–] 1 pt

For whatever reason that Hot Brown had a trend spike a couple of years ago. Heard about it constantly, never tried it

Pizza is actually a sandwich.

[–] 0 pt

Pff, no. The government told me it is actually a VEGETABLE!

Hahaha!

To be fair it's open face.

"Kentucky Hot Brown" doesn't sound very appetizing.

[–] 1 pt

Right? But apparently it’s proper drunk food

[–] 1 pt

Fantastic drunk food. Plate of Hot Brown and pitcher of cold yellow is great.

[–] 0 pt

Cold yellow, hot brown

Putting two and two together, I’d never have guessed Kentuckians we’re talking about food

I could go for a falafel right now.

[–] 0 pt

Falafel is just okay...it has an odd metallic taste to me, but, in a pinch, it’s passable

The Monte Cristo, because fruit jam does not belong in a sandwhich.

[–] 2 pts

Raspberry jam if memory serves. Yeah, fuck that, but a fried sandwich is decadent

You are either young or Japanese.

(I laughed because that was the first thing that came to my head)

[–] 1 pt

Have had many except the seafood ones, I don't do those.

My favorite is a gyro. Love lamb, fresh tomatoes, cucumber sauce. It's hard to find a good place for that here.

[–] 1 pt

Savages are missing the fried tenderloin sandwich.

[–] 0 pt

I bet there are plenty not here come to think of it

I've had most of those and wouldn't mind eating some of the others, but will never eat a po'boy. Shrimp is fucking nasty (not so much the taste; it's the texture). Nor will I eat anything with anything derived from an avacado. Seriously, avacado tastes like slimed butthole and I don't get how so many nasty fuckers out there can stomach it.

Shrimps are water bugs and really good. In my mind there is a primal disconnect between water bugs and land bugs, so I’m alright with it. Avocado are actually rare in certain parts of the world so to some they are like jewels. Not to me — I like them and all, but a hipster with dry toast would stab you in the neck

Water roaches like crab and lobster are the bomb. Shrimp is something I loved as a kid, but has gradually become harder to stomach. I'll eat it if I have to, but never go out of my way for it. Hell I won't eat grits because of texture, and that's sacrilege in these here parts. If I can deal with angry hicks taking offense at my hatred of grits, I can handle an avacado-loving hipster.

I’m very pro seafood. I like fresh water food too...dude, I’m that guy that orders snails.

And grits are awesome. I remember trying them for the first time and thought, oh “it’s not intestines.” Something about the word grits like an animal gritting...and then it’s like oh it’s just corn meal

I love that "croque monsieur" just means "Mr. Crunchy".

[–] 1 pt

I thought you were shitting and then TIL. I’m totally calling them Mr. Crunchy from now on

[–] 1 pt

And don't forget his wife, Croque Madame.

[–] 1 pt

I've only had a few.

The jambon beurre is literally ham and butter on a baguette but it’s like a Parisian staple. Outside of that I’ve been lucky to have traveled and lived all around the US — everyone has a staple in their neck of the woods

[–] 1 pt

They all sound excellent and I'm now going to go to bed hungry :(

If it’s any consolation, I’m sitting here in a fast. Dreaming about food generally leads to fruition from a singular motivation
