And yet another reason I would never and will never exit the aircraft without a reserve (and another reason every jumper should be inspecting/packing their own chute)
It's a simple thing to pack a reserve. Why not do it? Even if you don't pack your own chute, why not at least watch the person who does?

Lot's of experienced jumpers don't pack a reserve. I'm not sure what happened in this particular case. It's still under investigation.
